God Fixed It, Justice served, Free

We did nothing to inherit sin from Adam

So, God fixed it so that

We did nothing to receive righteousness from Jesus

God’s Justice

God Fixed it, justice served, paid in fullGod’s sense of justice is impeccable. The fact that He is a just God cannot and will not change. To some people, the gospel seems to contradict this fact. How is it fair for a murderer, more over a serial killer to escape hell? Not to mention a pedophile? How about the adulterer, the fornicator, the homosexual? Surely a just God would make sure that these kinds of persons would face off with the justice prescribed by His own law. In essence He did. Jesus Christ paid the price for every sin in that He bore the punishment for every sin. No sin goes unpunished.

The dilemma that we (man) faced is that the wages of sin is death. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Who would be left to glorify God on the earth if everyone were to pay the price for their own sins? God therefore fixed it. Jesus become the propitiation (appeasement to God) for our sins.

The gospel proposes that the shed blood of Jesus is ample atonement for all sins. All sins including the sins of  the murderer, adulterer, fornicator, homosexual, thief , liar, covetous, lazy, fearful, proud, vain, slanderer, incontinent, disobedient, idolaters, witches and all others. It is also proposed that the blood of Jesus Christ was shed once and for all the sins, of all men, of all times.

Salvation Is Free

Sin is free but also very costly. There is nothing that you need to do in order to be a sinner. As long as you exist (outside of Christ) you are a sinner. If you don’t eat, don’t breath, don’t think or don’t talk you are still a sinner. If you are kind, loving, sweet, peaceful, decent and nice, without Jesus you are still a sinner. To be a sinner takes no effort…it is FREE! Yet it comes at the cost of your eternal life.

The preacher of the gospel invites one and all to come just as you are, your sins are before you and you admit that you are living in sin. You now hate that fact and desire change (that is called repentance), come. We who have been following Christ for years will honestly attest to the fact that not all of our faults and sinful behaviors go away instantly. Yet we can joyfully declared that we are free from sin…this is a statement of faith not a report of physical accomplishment.

The un-saved that live around us can point out quite a few of our faults if they want to. Those of us who are saved follow Christ and he daily molds us into what he wants us to be. We don’t change our lives and then we get saved. We are first saved,  JESUS DOES THAT, He saves us and then we follow him as the Spiritual transformation that has taken place within us works to become evident in the natural world.

Salvation is not a degree program that comes through long study and rigorous testing. God fixed it so that at the very instant that one comes to faith in Jesus Christ BAM! You are saved. This salvation thing is rigged in our favor and the devil can do nothing about it. What he has been trying to do is to blind us with our natural reasoning, doubt, fear and religion. Enough so, that we teach ourselves and others how hard we need to work in order to receive and maintain that which is a free gift. Just like a Lotto scam, we are duped into thinking that we need to pay for something that is free …. The only “catch” there is to God’s salvation plan, is that there is no sensible, tangible proof that this salvation is valid. That is why the assurance that we have this thing that we hope for, is called faith.

Jesus Is Big Enough

One of the things that people find hard to believe is that Jesus has the power to take away the sins of the world. John began his epistle this way…1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.The same was in the beginning with God.All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.In him was life; and the life was the light of men.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1: 1-5 (KJV).

Jesus is God. Jesus is man. This dual fact makes Him big enough to adequately atone for the sins of all the world. When Jesus walked the earth in the flesh He was a man. The fact that He is also God multiplies Him infinitely so that He is able to take the place of every individual in facing God’s judgement.

The death of Jesus Christ was a slap to the Devil’s face, actually it crushed his head. Now God has made it so that no sin can be imputed to the person who is covered by the blood of the slaughtered lamb. When the prosecutor presents all the evidence of sin in the eternal court of justice, our advocate presents blood covered saints. The judge therefore sees no evidence of sin and the accused is declared sinless, innocent, righteous and free.

This court drama is not something that can now be seen with the natural eye. This is spiritual truth that can only be seen through the spirit. There is no physical evidence to prove this. Believe this…it is God’s truth and the truth will set you free. Our sin debt has been paid in full. Justice has been served. HALLELUJAH thank you Jesus.
